Door closer is a door accessory that closes a door automatically after it has been opened. Door closers are commonly used for emergency exit doors, stair doors in the schools, hospitals, buildings and apartments. In order to use the door closer effectively and durably, it is necessary to install the door closer correctly according to the following options:
• Standard mount – pull side: This is the most common mounting option of the door closer. The door closer body will be mounted on the door while the arm is fixed to the door frame. Door closer body should be oriented so that the speed regulating valves are toward the hinge stile of the door.
• Parallel mount – push side: the door closer body is mounted on the door, and the arm is installed on the door frame. The door closer body is mounted on the door, and the arm is installed on the door frame. The length of the forearm and connecting rod should be adjusted to ensure the main arm is parallel to door stile. In this case, an additional bass is required to mount the forearm to the door frame. Closer body should be oriented so that the speed regulating valves are not toward the hinge stile on the door.
